Since you haven’t posted the entry for today, I’ll reply here. I can think of a few more presidents worse than Carter:
James Buchanah (I’m sorry, but with what he let happen, he has to be #1: he allowed blacks to officially be called “non-persons” by the Supreme Court, pushed for Kansas, at the territory’s objection, to be admitted as a slave state, fractured the union, then fractured his own party)
Warren Harding (one of the most corrupt presidents in history)
Andrew Johnson (the only open white supremacist to attain the Presidency (well, if you consider Woodrow Wilson to be a closet white supremacist rather than an open one))
Ulysses S. Grant (a complete drunkard who wasted an entire Reconstruction effort)
Millard Filmore/Franklin Pierce (they completely caved to the slave states and set the stage for Bleeding Kansas and its repercussions)
And yes, Dubya (bad for Israel, bad for the nation, bad for the world)
Oh, and Anastasio Somoza Debayle and the Shah were solely responsible for their own toppling.

Furthermore, don’t kid yourself. Don Rumsfeld was a good friend of Saddam’s. And Reagan did well enough in cultivating Jihadist sentiment himself, what with complete retreat from Beirut and the arming/support of the Mujahideen, whose leaders were directly responsible for the rise of the Taliban and 9/11.
