Ali receives the “Presidential Medal of Freedom” from the American president…
The award was created in 1945 to recognize “notable service” in World War II…
I guess dodging the draft due to his membership in the Nation of Islam did not tarnish Ali’s sterling (not!) service record in WWII…
BTW, I think that Ali’s gesture means, “I really think that you are a wise man and a brilliant leader”, doesn’t it?…
