Boycott Israel?…I Don’t Think So…
Written by Marty Roberts on December 5, 2011 – 1:26 pm -You might miss out on the world’s first vaccine and cure for cancer!!!
If you want to boycott Israel, do so at your own risk…the risk of being left behind, swept back to the dark ages…stripped of most of the benefits of modern science, technology and medical research…much of which comes out of the tiny little country called ISRAEL…
Boycott Israel…No, I don’t think so…not if you have even half a brain…
Eureka: World’s First Vaccine and Cure For Cancer Developed by Israeli Medicine Company
The BIG NEWS of a Cancer Curing Drug is coming in from Israel.
Reprinted from techie-buzz.com
An Israeli company has come up with a vaccine against cancer that is both safe in terms of no side-effects and can be administered as a drug. Vaxil BioTherapeutics has developed a vaccine that is now undergoing clinical trials and not yet available in the market. It is being tested at Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem and the trials could take as long as six years to conclude.
A vaccine that is also a drug
The vaccine also acts like a drug, i.e. it can be administered to a sick person as a cure. The vaccine is being tested against a form of blood cancer called multiple myeloma and it is generating enough success. Vaxil says that it could be used against other types of cancer as well, including the common prostrate and breast cancer. The primary immune technology, called VaxHit, can then be developed for other forms of cancer.
How the drug works
The problem with cancer is that the immune system of the body doesn’t know what exactly it should do. The Vaxil product, called ImMucin, “trains” the immune system to act in a specific way. Cancer cells have a marker called MUC1 that is unique to cancer cells only. ImMucin trains “T-cells” of our immune system to attack only those cells that are marked by the MUC1 marker. The success rate of the vaccine has not been revealed, but it is supposedly phenomenal. The diversification of the vaccine stems from the fact that MUC1 marks more than 90% of the different cancer cells. Furthermore, since only those cells marked with MUC1 are targeted, the drug has no side-effects and is completely safe to use.
This may be the ultimate magic bullet that scientists have been working towards for a long time. However, there are still a few clinical tests to go.

Israeli “Humanitarian Hi-Tech” in Action: A Virtual “Cane” for the Blind
Written by Marty Roberts on June 30, 2011 – 5:11 pm -From the Israeli scientist that brought you crossword puzzles for the blind…bigger and better things for the visually challenged…
Israeli scientists develop ‘virtual cane’
Hebrew University unveils innovation which could significantly improve orientation, mobility of sight-impaired people
Reprinted from ynetnews.com
Yissum Research Development Company Ltd, the technology transfer company of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem presented a major new innovation – a virtual cane that will significantly improve the orientation and mobility of sight-impaired people.
The new device can assist blind people in estimating the distance and height of various obstacles. The invention was patented by Yissum, which is now seeking strategic partners for further development.
Dr. Amir Amedi from the Institute for Medical Research Israel-Canada (IMRIC) and at Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences (ELSC) at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and his team recently developed the device to help in spatial navigation for the blind.
Unlike a white stick that can give the blind input from only a meter away, the device can function at a much shorter distance and up to some 10 meters in all directions. Dr. Amedi said the device can also distinguish between smiling and sad faces and can be used for research on how the brain flexibly changes upon receiving input and on brain reorganization in the blind.
Amedi added that the blind user functions like a dolphin or bat, with sonar-type signals reacting to surroundings.
The invention, which was unveiled at the Presidential Conference last week, functions as a virtual flashlight and can replace or augment the classic white cane. The virtual cane emits a focused beam towards surrounding objects, and transmits the information to the user via a gentle vibration, similar to a cell phone vibration.
A Yissum press release noted that the cane incorporates several sensors that estimate the distance between the user and the object it is pointed at. This allows the blind person to assess the height and distance of various objects, reconstruct an accurate image of the surroundings and navigate safely.
The virtual cane is extremely small, easy to carry, accurate, can function for up to 12 hours and is easy to charge. Using the device is highly intuitive and can be learnt within a few minutes.
Yaacov Michlin, CEO of Yissum said, “Dr. Amedi’s promising invention can endow visually impaired people with the freedom to freely navigate in their surroundings without unintentionally bumping into or touching other people and thus has the potential to significantly enhance their quality of life.”
Yissum is a Research Development Company of the Hebrew University and was founded in 1964 to protect and commercialize the Hebrew University’s intellectual property.

Reprinted from globes.co.il
Pluristem Therapeutics Ltd. (Nasdaq:PSTI; DAX: PJT: PLTR) has signed an exclusive out-license agreement with United Therapeutics Corporation (Nasdaq: UTHR) for the use of Pluristem’s PLacental eXpanded (PLX) cells to develop and commercialize a cell-based product for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension (PH). United Therapeutics will receive exclusive worldwide licensing rights for the development and commercialization of the future product for treating PH patients. Pluristem will retain its intellectual property – the PLX cells – and all manufacturing rights. It will participate in the pre-clinical and clinical trial activities and provide the commercial grade product.
United Therapeutics will pay Pluristem an initial $7 million and milestone and other payments for a total of $55 million. Pluristem will also be reimbursed for costs of development and clinical activities. United Therapeutics will bear all the costs of conducting the clinical trials for this indication. Following commercialization, United Therapeutics will purchase commercial supplies from Pluristem at a specified margin over Pluristem’s cost, and it will also pay Pluristem specified royalties as a percentage from its gross profits generated from the developed product.
“This is an important milestone for our company, as it exemplifies our belief that Pluristem’s PLX cells are a platform technology that can be used for the treatment of numerous diseases. This agreement is in line with our strategy of being a state of the art cell manufacturer while maintaining all the production and Intellectual Property rights for future product candidates,” said Pluristem chairman and CEO Zami Aberman.

Israeli Bio-Tech Start-Up Fights an Almost Universal Blight on Humanity
Written by Marty Roberts on June 21, 2011 – 9:43 am -Stinky breath…more politely known as “Halitosis”, or “Bad Breath”
When the “start-up nation” smells a bad smell…we find an innovative way to fix it…
Here, in Israel, we know how to make a pile of poop smell like roses…
A lollipop to banish bad breath
Israeli startup Breezy has developed a patented mint candy to keep breath fresh for up to four hours, with the help of microcapsules that gently clean the tongue
Reprinted from Israel21c
With some 50% of people suffering halitosis, Breezy CEO Hillel Lerman anticipates a lot of interest in his product.
Those old mouthwash commercials had it right: Bad breath, as clichéd as it sounds, really is a big problem. If it weren’t, there wouldn’t be quite so many products on drugstore shelves to combat it. The only problem is that most of them don’t work.
“There are toothpastes, mouthwashes, candies and gums you can buy to treat bad breath, but all they do is mask the problem for a few minutes,” claims Hillel Lerman, the CEO of Israeli startup Breezy. “There is no solution that treats the root of the problem – except ours.”
That solution is Breezy’s Like lollipop, a sugar-free candy confection that removes the bacteria that causes bad breath. The best part is that its effects last for more than four hours.
This probably sounds like a claim you’ve heard before, but if you look closely at the ads for the plethora of breath-freshening products for sale, you won’t find any that claim to keep your breath fresh for one hour, much less four.
“They can’t make such claims, because the best they can give you is 20 minutes or so,” Lerman says. “That’s because they just mask the problem, instead of removing the bacteria that cause bad breath, keeping breath fresh and clean.”
The efficacy of the lollipop against halitosis was shown in a series of clinical trials on 75 individuals at the Hillel Yafe May Medical Center in Israel.
That’s the main difference between Breezy’s solution and major brands of mouthwashes that give you a boost of fresh breath but cannot prevent the quick return of halitosis, which is caused by bacteria. Once the mouthwash has dissipated, the bacteria reasserts itself, and bad breath soon follows.
Breezy’s Like candy overcomes that issue, according to Lerman, with slow-release microcapsules filled with safe, all-natural active agents that battle halitosis. The hard microcapsules assist in gently scraping the tongue to remove the food particles and bacteria that cause unpleasant odor. When the capsules open, they release the active ingredients, which continue to act against the germs for hours.
Tasty bacteria buster
“Our Like candy offers triple protection,” says Lerman. “The candy’s microcapsules scrub; the mint in the candy freshens; and the active agents combat bacteria. Like also acts as an on-the-go tongue scraper that facilitates scraping around and at the back of the tongue – a prime area for bacteria buildup – with significantly less gag reflex.”
Like is just an example of what Breezy can do; the lollipop is merely one iteration of an anti-halitosis platform the company is developing.
“We have several patents which cover the concept and the use of microcapsules for a scraping therapeutic effect,” Lerman says. Potential products will work against smoker’s breath, dry mouth (xerostomia), oral fungus (candida/thrush), and canker sores (mouth ulcer/aphtous stomatitis).
“The Like product is ready for the market, and we are finalizing funding for packaging and marketing,” Lerman says, adding that the company is in advanced talks with a European group for distribution and marketing of Breezy technology.
Along with Lerman, the Breezy team consists of co-founders Shimon Harpaz and Dr. Shlomo Barak. Harpaz has a business background, having worked with several other startups in the past, while Barak is a top Israeli dentist and maxillofacial surgeon.
The company was founded in 2007 with the backing of Lenny Sackstein, founder of Carmit Confectionery, one of Israel’s largest candy-makers. Breezy has its offices at the Trendlines Group’s Mofet B’Yehuda Venture Accelerator near Jerusalem. Trendlines is currently the main investor in the company.
“This is something the world has definitely been waiting for,” says Lerman. “With halitosis affecting approximately 50 percent of the adult population worldwide, consumers spend billions of dollars on products to make their breath smell clean and fresh. Finally, there is a product that consumers can really rely on to get rid of their bad breath. We expect a lot of people to like Like.”

New Israeli Research: Eat Cinnamon to Delay, or Even Cure Alzheimer’s
Written by Marty Roberts on June 10, 2011 – 11:10 am -More ground-breaking research from Israel’s universities (boycott them at your own risk, Europe…)
Cinnamon may delay, cure Alzheimer’s: Israeli study
Cinnamon, a spice usually associated with sweet foods, contains properties that may delay the onset of Alzheimer’s disease, and possibly offer a cure, according to a new Israeli study.
Reprinted from xinhuanet.com
The neurodegenerative illness is characterized by gradual memory loss, which doctors attribute to an accumulation of beta amyloid, a fibrous protein aggregate, outside the brain’s nerve cells. The World Health Organization says some 70,000 Israelis are currently diagnosed with the disease, out of 18 million worldwide.A research team, headed by Michael Ovadia from Tel Aviv University’s Zoology Department, recently isolated one of the ingredients in cinnamon, CEppt, and used it in a series of tests conducted on two-month-old lab mice that were raised with five aggressive strains of Alzheimer’s-inducing genes.
The experiment’s results, recently published in the PLoS ONE scientific journal, were impressive. Fed drinking water containing a CEppt solution over four months, researchers found that the disease’s development was delayed, with additional trials showing that existing amyloids has been dissolved.
“The finding points at the possibility that the material found may not only prevent Alzheimer’s but may also contain therapeutic qualities,” Ovadia told the Ha’aretz newspaper.
“The discovery is exciting,” Ovadia said. He said that while some companies are developing synthetic materials to combat Alzheimer’s, CEppt is a “natural and safe” material with no side effects.
Testing on humans, he said, may prove difficult owing to the disease’s slow progression. The research team is now considering trying out the recent discovery on other animals.
Despite the optimistic news, Ovadia cautioned against excessive consumption of cinnamon, which can damage liver functions, and recommends consuming no more than 10 gram a day.
Meanwhile, the professor said that he and his students have begun implementing the study’s findings with a daily cup of tea mixed with a cinnamon stick.

Only in Israel…An Easy Pill to Swallow…In Place of Colonoscopy
Written by Marty Roberts on June 7, 2011 – 11:21 am -Lot’s of people do not avail themselves of the most effective exam for preventing colon cancer…colonoscopy…
Granted, the preparation for the test is a bit unpleasant, although the test itself is a big nothing, many avoid the potentially life-saving procedure (it probably saved MY life 6 years ago, but that’s another story…)
Well, thanks to Israeli innovation, here’s an alternative that’s just too good to refuse…
Given Imaging launches trial for colonoscopy alternative
The PillCam Colon trial will encompass 800 patients who are at average risk for colonic polyps.
Reprinted from Globes.co.il
Capsule endoscopy company Given Imaging Ltd. (Nasdaq: GIVN; TASE:GIVN) reported today that it has initiated its first trial of PillCam Colon 2. The capsule will be tested in a large, multi-center pivotal study, ahead of an application to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).800 patients, aged 50-75 years, who are at average risk for colonic polyps and comprise the normal screening population will be recruited by Given Imaging at 17 locations.
Prof. Douglas Rex of Indiana University School of Medicine, and Director of Endoscopy, Indiana University Hospital said, “While colonoscopy remains the most effective test for colorectal cancer screening, not everyone is willing to undergo colonoscopy. Only half of eligible Americans have had a screening test, so we welcome additional tools that can help us increase compliance and lower the incidence of colorectal cancer.”
He added, “We recently completed a survey demonstrating that patients who are noncompliant with their physician’s recommendation for a colonoscopy for colorectal cancer screening would prefer PillCam COLON capsule endoscopy over other screening modalities. Aspects of PillCam that are attractive include that it’s less invasive, detects polyps better than some of the alternative tests and does not require either sedation or a driver to accompany the patient.”
Given Image’s share was down 1.11% on Nasdaq in afternoon trading today to $21.30, giving a market cap of $639.58 million.

Obama Was Wrong…American Exceptionalism is NOT the Same as Every Other Country’s Exceptionalism
Written by Marty Roberts on June 2, 2011 – 10:19 am -And Neither is Israel’s…
All countries are NOT created equal…Some countries really ARE better than other countries, whether it be morally, ethically, economic strength, military strength…the list goes on and on…
And, maybe above all else, when it comes to contributing to the welfare of the World and Mankind in general, can you really say countries like Israel and the United States are not exceptional?…
Not unless you have been living in an isolated cave for the past 50 years. (Has US president Barak Obama?…Well, Harvard and the American university system DO tend to be a bit cave-like…)
Here, an Israeli company has just received FDA approval for a new instrument for the treatment of the most common (and difficult to treat) type of brain cancer, Glioblastoma Multiforme.
Is Israel an exceptional country? Announcements of advancements in medicine, science and technology that contribute to saving lives and improving the quality of life for all of Mankind are a daily occurrence here, in Israel. When was the last time you heard an announcement of this sort coming out of Egypt? Saudi Arabia? Syria? Tunisia? The Palestinian Authority? Not likely.
Instead of constant condemnation, isolation and rejection, it’s time for the world to openly show their appreciation for this tiny gem bringing light to all of Mankind…time to appreciate Israel, and do everything humanly possible to guarantee her continued success, and yes, even her existence…
NEW DEVICE TO TREAT BRAIN CANCER, DEVELOPED IN ISRAEL
After six years of waiting, the Israeli company “NovoCure” received FDA approval for an instrument developed for the treatment of recurrent Glioblastoma Multiforme
Reprinted from Ticket-Med Medical Tourism Blog
The medical term of “Cancer” includes over 100 different types of malignant tumors that can develop in the human body. These masses start growing when abnormal cells start dividing rapidly and without control. The unexpected growths harm human tissues nearby and can also spread out to other organs in the body.Different treatments of cancer normally depend on a number of factors that include: early detection, the size of the growth, its exact location, the stage it is in and has it spread to other parts of the body. Certain types of cancer have higher odds of being successfully treated while others have lower odds as the medical industry hasn’t succeeded yet in developing proper treatments.
Glioblastoma Multiforme (also referred to as GBM), the most common type of brain cancer, is considered an extremely aggressive type of cancer as this specific tumor is a very fast growing cancer. When diagnosed with this disease, patients must begin treatments immediately as the tumor progresses rapidly.
Glioblastoma Multiforme TreatmentsAs GBM develops in the human brain, one of the most delicate and important organs in our body, undergoing surgery to remove the growth isn’t always an option. Not only is the brain more susceptible to damage from the conventional therapy but the brain cells are resistant to conventional therapies as well.
This leads to oncologists usually recommending that patients diagnosed with this cancer enroll in clinical trials and try experimental drugs in order to improve treatments chances and to try and raise them by any method possible. Due to the nature of the GBM cancer, every breakthrough can mean a great deal in this specific field of cancer treatments.
And after years of waiting, it seems as if one has finally arrived.
New Device for Treating Brain Cancer – Developed in IsraelIsrael’s medicine industry excels in many different fields; cancer being one of them. It is a fact that Israel accepts several thousands of medical tourists every year that come in specifically for cancer treatments. Israeli cancer treatments and research centers are very advanced and practice medicine with a very high level of expertise.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that an Israeli company named “NovoCure”, has developed a implement that helps treating GBM. The development is a portable and wearable device that delivers an anti-mitotic, anti-cancer therapy as patients maintain their normal daily activities. It is a lightweight and compact device that runs on batteries, which creates an electromagnetic field that can disintegrate malignancies. The device, called NovoTTF, is a novel, first-in-class treatment option for patients and physicians battling glioblastoma.
This NovoTTF is intended for adult patients suffering from glioblastoma multiforme in cases of a recurrent disease that has arisen despite the use of chemotherapy. When wearing the device, it treats patients without the usual, debilitating side effects that chemotherapies inflict on recurrent GBM patients and indirectly on their families.
The Awaited FDA ApprovalA month ago, a six year long waiting period has finally come to an end for the Israeli company and GBM patients around the globe. The U.S. FDA (Food Inspection and Drug Administration) has issued the permission for the use of the innovative device in order to treat patients with brain cancer.
Developed in the Research Centre of “NovoCure” – located in the northern city of Haifa, Israel – the “NovoTTF-100A” has been tested in a randomized clinical trial of 237 patients with glioblastoma multiforme who had a relapse of the disease, despite undergoing treatments including surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The FDA gave its approval based on the data from this clinical trial.
Medical Director, Dr. Eilon Kirzon noted that this device is a non-invasive, safe and effective alternative to chemotherapy. When compared with conventional chemotherapy, the device achieves a similar level of patient survival, with fewer side effects and a significantly improved quality of life for the patients. Studies have also shown that the device can slow and reverse tumor growth by inhibiting the process by which cells divide and replicate.
It should be stated that at this stage, the FDA authorized the use of “NovoTTF-100A” only in cases of recurrent glioblastoma. NovoCure has already started clinical trials in patients who have glioblastoma multiforme which has been diagnosed for the first time in the patient brain.

Boycott Israel…This Gives new meaning to the Expression “Cutting Off Your Nose to Spite Your Face”
Written by Marty Roberts on May 31, 2011 – 10:22 am -Boycott Israel? Aside from being immoral and having no political basis whatsoever…It’s just plain stupid!!
And here is another great reason to NOT boycott Israel, in fact, a great reason to VISIT Israel…It’s called “Medical Tourism”…
With one of the finest health systems in the world, the beauty and historic richness of Israel makes it an ideal destination for spot for the relatively new industry known as “Medical Tourism”.
While enjoying the fantastic year-round climate, you can visit the places that you only read about in the Bible, whatever your religion may be, enjoy gorgeous beaches, ski the Hermon, ice skate in Metulla…the list goes on and on…And if you need medical treatment, the list of top-notch medical centers is WAAAYYYYYY long for such a tiny country, not to mention the healing powers of the Dead Sea, which is ringed by medical-treatment resort/spas…
Come…Enjoy…Heal yourself!
Israel – The Land of Medical Opportunities
When people here of Israel, they usually think of the country in one of two contexts. The first is the on-going political context Israel is constantly in, due to the country’s location and geopolitical climate. The second is the tourism destination, usually emphasizing the holy attractions and places sacred to the main religions. As it turns out, the Middle Eastern country both enjoys the benefits and suffers from the consequences of its delicate location. On the one hand, Israel is one of the most beautiful and interesting places one can visit, on the other, it can often be a point of controversy.
Unfortunately, the majority of people are not familiar with the other sides Israel has to offer. In addition to the rich history, magnificent beaches and legendary weather, Israel is also known as a leading medical innovator, always on the forefront of medical technology and research in the global industry, offering the highest medical standards in the world.
It may surprise some, but Israel has become a central medical tourism destination attracting thousands of medical tourists every year, visiting its state-of-the-art medical centers for different treatments, along with its natural resource attractions such as the Dead Sea and other hot springs spas around the country.
Medical Tourism
But before we take a look at the central medical services that the Israeli medical tourism industry has to offer, we will first answer the broader question of “What is medical tourism”?
The term medical tourism describes a global phenomenon in which patients travel across national borders in order to receive medical treatments of any sort. Although some may think that this is a new trend that has developed recently, it has been documented that patients have been traveling for health reasons for centuries.
In the past couple of decades the industry has begun to blossom once again thanks to a rapid improvement in transportation means and the fact that the internet has made our world grow smaller. People who were unable to receive proper medical care in their own country are suddenly free to pursue their options elsewhere. This can be due to improper medical insurance (or none at all) which leads to patient being unable to afford surgery, long waiting lists which force patients to wait months and even years to undergo specific operations or simply patients who have the means and would rather travel to countries with better or more advanced medical technology and research in a specific medical field.
Combine these facts with the Israel’s medical attractions and medical centers and there is no surprise in Israel’s top medical tourism status.
Medical Tourism in Israel
Israel hasn’t become a popular medical tourism destination for nothing. There are many central medical attractions in the country.
The Dead Sea
One of the main natural resources people come to Israel for is the Dead Sea. Located outside of Jerusalem, the Dead Sea is one of the most popular spa destinations in the world for treating different types of psoriasis, rheumatic diseases (joints and muscles), respiratory diseases (such as asthma, cystic fibrosis) and more. This attraction has become popular due to its health promoting conditions that include the high density salty sea with an unusual salt composition, thermo-mineral springs and a special natural mud, a unique solar irradiation and an increased oxygen density.
Hot Spring Therapy
Another famous attraction is the hot springs around the country dealing with hot spring therapy. A hot spring of this sort is produced by the emergence of geothermal heated groundwater from the Earth’s crust. These waters are full of minerals which are known to have potential healing powers. Bathing in a hot spring may assist with enhancing your metabolism, relieving aching joints, improving blood circulation, promoting a physical and psychological well-being and more. Israel has many hot spring sites including: Hamat Gader, Ga’ash, Tiberias, Yoav (in the south), Ein Gedi and more.
IVF Treatments
On top of these natural resources, Israeli medicine excels in some specific fields, IVF treatments being one of them. Israel is one of the leading countries in the world in research and treatment in the field of fertility, as around 5% births in Israel are a result of IVF (well above the percentage in other western countries). In addition, Israel is the global leader in fertility clinics and fertility procedures performed per capita ratio.
Cancer Treatments & Research
Another field of excellence of Israeli medicine is the cancer treatment and research field. Israeli cancer treatment and research centers are very advanced, as people from other countries often prefer to undergo different cancer treatment plans in Israel then in their own home country due to the level of expertise available in the country.
On top of these, Israeli medical centers have always offered the best medical care available in state-of-the-art hospitals and clinics. As all hospitals in the country are kept under the strictest protocols, No less than 7 Israeli medical centers have received the prestigious JCI accreditation.
If you are searching for medical treatment abroad, be sure to check Israeli hospitals in your medical tourism query, as medical tourists can visit Israel for any medical procedure they require. As a bonus, after one is done recovering from the medical procedure they have come in for, they are free to enjoy any type of vacation in the country.

FDA approves MCS thrombosis treatment
This is the only device on the market that combines simultaneous diagnostics with treatment during preventative care. Marketing will begin in 2012.
Reprinted from Globes
MCS Medical Compression Systems (DBN) Ltd. (TASE:MDCL) has obtained US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) marketing approval for its ActiveCare + DT non-invasive device for treating deep vein thrombosis and preventing embolisms. The company will begin marketing the system in 2012.
MCS says that the system, a development of its flagship ActiveCare + SFT device, is the only device on the market that combines simultaneous diagnostics with treatment during preventative care by identifying disruptions in blood flow in the limb veins in real time and preventing its development. The company added that, currently, there is a 5-6% risk of developing deep vein thrombosis in patients who receive medication and/or other therapy after orthopedic surgery, but there no treatments or technologies to warn that the therapy is failing.
MCS says that the ActiveCare + DT system can more quickly identify the development of deep vein thrombosis early in post-operative care and verify the presence of blood clots. Early diagnosis should greatly reduce severe complications, such as potentially lethal pulmonary embolisms.
A large clinical trial in the US found that use of ActiveCare + SFT with the blood thinner Lovenox on patients after knee replacement surgery was effective MCS says that the ActiveCare + DT system has an advantage over medication by providing early diagnosis in patients where preventative care has failed.
