Feminists…Where the Heck Are You???

Written by Marty Roberts on March 5, 2010 – 11:41 am -

NOT in Saudi Arabia, I must say…
At least the punishment fits the crime…NOT! How dare a female human being move about freely in Saudi Arabia WITHOUT a male escort. Horrendous!! Immoral!! Lascivious!! She should be happy that she is only being horsewhipped and thrown in jail and not beheaded…
BTW, where are those feminist groups now, when we need them? Moral relativism even amongst feminists????

A human rights group said today Sawsan Salim was convicted last month in a court in Rass, in Qassim province, after petitioning officials in the kingdom’s capital Riyadh.

The petition included King Abdullah over what she alleged was years of abuse by local justice officials, the US-based Human Rights Watch (HRW) said in a statement.

Despite her request for intervention, two local judges charged her with filing 118 “spurious complaints” against officials, including the judges themselves, and “appearing … without a male guardian” between 2004 and 2008.

On January 25, she was convicted after a month-long trial before two judges, one of whom was a plaintiff in the case and the original target of Salim’s harassment allegations, according to HRW.

The group called for higher authorities to quash the verdict.

Salim alleges that ever since she rejected local judge Habib Abdullah al Aqsa’s repeated urging to divorce her husband, who was jailed over debts, in 2004, that judge and other officials continually created trouble for her.

On numerous occasions through 2008, HRW said, officials “chided Salim for not being accompanied by a male guardian during her visits to their offices.”

Under Saudi Arabia’s ultra-strict version of Islam, women are not supposed to move around outside the home without a male guardian.

Salim and her lawyer petitioned top officials several times over the years of harassment.

“She owns a business, and they were making things very difficult for her,” said Nadya Khalife, an HRW women’s rights researcher for the Middle East.

“She didn’t keep things quiet.”

Two local judges, including Aqsa, countered with their own accusations and their case went to trial in December, resulting in the conviction. Aqsa was one of the judges appointed to try the case.

“In Saudi Arabia, being a woman going about her legitimate business without a man’s protection is apparently a crime,” Khalife said.

Does This Look Like Apartheid in Israel To You?..If So, Better Get Your Eyes Checked

Written by Marty Roberts on March 3, 2010 – 4:04 pm -

From Dubai, of all places…
Kind of ironic..Dubai/UAE STILL does not recognize the State of Israel even exists…But I SURE seem to be hearing an awful lot of Dubai stuff in the news these days…
BTW…Just one more blow to those claiming apartheid exists in Israel…Sure doesn’t look like it from this, does it?…
Arab Cricket in Israel

Israeli cricket wins Dubai prize

Israel Cricket Association cited for cross-border program bringing together Jews, Bedouins

Reprinted from YNet News Anat Shalev

The Dubai-based International Cricket Council has awarded the Israel Cricket Association with a prize for a cross-border initiative bringing together Jews and Bedouins in the southern Negev desert.

The winning project was initiated by Stanley Perlman, the Israel Cricket Association’s chairman.

The Association’s director, Naor Gudker, who is also an international umpire, told Ynet that cricket is among the top three sports in Asia and in many Arab states, including Pakistan and Dubai.

“A very high percentage of the managers, players, and coaches in global cricket are Muslims,” he said. “We do not feel that we are met with revulsion in Muslim states, such as Malaysia, where we played in 1997.”

Gudker expressed his excitement over the latest award, which joins a similar prize won by the Israeli association in 2001.

“It’s a huge achievement. It’s a project we promoted that was warmly received across the world,” he said. “This award in general and the project in particular are a good example of how cricket can bridge, bring compromise, and teach us to accept others.”

The next move is to make cricket accessible to Arab Israelis in Israel’s north, he said.

Gudker used the opportunity to criticize authorities for failing to offer cricket the support it deserves.

“Cricket is rather developed in Israel – there are 21 teams, school leagues, and youth leagues…in Beersheba, 2,000 kids are involved in projects related to the sports. Yet nonetheless, the State is unwilling to build a central cricket stadium and upgrade the sports to an international level,” he said.

Apartheid in Israel…Afraid Not

Written by Marty Roberts on March 3, 2010 – 3:28 pm -

Israeli Army troops on Israel’s border with Egypt spend a good bit of their time escorting these African refugees IN to Israel. They take them to Tel-Aviv, where they are processed and receive health care, warm beds and food…just what they were seeking. No one in Israel is shooting at them. That is why they keep on trying to come to Israel, even if the Egyptians take target practice on their bodies.

BTW, these refugees are NOT Jewish…
They ARE black-skinned…
Kind of throws a monkey wrench into the “Israel Apartheid Week” celebrations taking place on university campuses this week, doesn’t it?..but who said you had to have intelligence to attend university…even more so to TEACH there…(or to be president of the US aka Jimmy Carter)…
There is NOTHING even remotely resembling apartheid in Israel…period.

Egyptian border guards fatally shoot African migrant trying to get into Israel

RAFAH, Egypt – An Egyptian security official says border guards have fatally shot an African migrant and detained 16 others as they tried to cross the border into Israel.

The official says the shot migrant, whose nationality was not known, refused to surrender after guards fired warning shots south of Rafah early Sunday.

He spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to the media.

UN urges Egypt to stop shooting at migrants

Egyptian forces deliberately kill asylum seekers on Israel border, UN human rights chief says

Reprinted from YNet News

The UN human rights chief on Tuesday urged Egyptian forces to stop shooting at African migrants trying to enter Israel illegally through Egypt, after 60 were killed in the past two and a half years.

“While migrants often lose their lives accidentally when travelling in over-crowded boats, or trying to cross remote land borders, I know of no other country where so many unarmed migrants and asylum seekers appear to have been deliberately killed in this way by government forces,” Navi Pillay said.

“It is a deplorable state of affairs, and the sheer number of victims suggests that at least some Egyptian security officials have been operating a shoot-to-kill policy…60 killings can hardly be an accident.”

Most of the migrants hail from sub-Saharan Africa’s Eritrea, Sudan and Ethiopia, and have been heading for Israel. The latest victim was killed at the weekend, bringing the number of fatal shootings to nine in the first two months of 2010 alone.

“The Egyptian government should issue an immediate order to its security forces to ensure that firearms are used in strict compliance with international standards,” said the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in a statement.

She also urged an “independent and credible inquiry into the killings.”

“There needs to be clarity about what has occurred, what policies have been applied to migrants trying to cross this border, and what specific orders have been given to security forces patrolling the area.”

Just Another Excuse for Anti-Israel Hatred and Violence

Written by Marty Roberts on March 2, 2010 – 11:53 am -

It is very obvious to us here, in Israel, that the palestinians are making a concentrated effort to stir things up in the region. They are using Israel’s statement about Jewish heritage to stimulate a conflagration of violence, which they hope will spread throughout the region, leading to war and, ultimately, Israel’s annihilation (they hope). No state-building, no building of infrastructure, no building of institutions, no economic development…Just hatred and violence. They don’t want a state, they want to eliminate the existing state of Israel. that is enough to satisfy palestinian aspirations. They don’ have what it takes to build a nation. Maybe because they are NOT really a nation…just a collection of wandering arabs from the region…THAT is the reality…We have seen this SO many times before, but the world just buys it, lock, stock and barrel. Any excuse for anti-semitism, anti-israel-ism…
Clashes in Hebron

ME anger at Israeli ‘escalations’

Clashes between Israeli police and Palestinian protestors over the issue of holy sites have provoked a wave of condemnation in the Arab press for Israel’s behaviour

Reprinted from BBC News

On Sunday several Palestinians were arrested after Israeli security forces entered the Temple Mount in East Jerusalem. The incident followed clashes in the West Bank town of Hebron on Friday over Israel’s decision to list two disputed shrines as heritage sites.

The Palestinian press painted Israel’s actions as a deliberate attempt to escalate conflict in the region. Newspapers in the Middle East condemned what was perceived as a concerted effort to oppress Islamic identity and set back the peace process.

In Israel, one editorial acknowledged that the decision to list the disputed shrines may have been a “tactical mistake”, while another commentator attacked the US response to the issue.

EDITORIAL IN PALESTINIAN AL-QUDS

The fresh Israeli aggression against the sanctity of the al-Aqsa mosque, and the attacks on worshippers by the Israeli security apparatus, represent the latest in a series of Israeli escalations over the past few weeks… they show that [Israel] is determined to escalate and even expand the conflict.

AYMAN ABU-NAHIYAH IN PALESTINIAN FILASTIN

The Judaization of Hebron… is a prelude to the Judaization of the al-Aqsa mosque and the rest of Palestine… this will include the expulsion of Palestinians from their homes and the seizure of their properties.

TALAL AKWAL IN PALESTINIAN AL-AYYAM

The US silence shows that ongoing attempts to resume negotiations have stalled and that those might have to wait until after a new Palestinian intifadah or even war.

EDITORIAL IN EGYPT’S AL-JUMHURIYAH

Israeli plans to Judaize the al-Aqsa mosque and other occupied Islamic places are being implemented without any respect to religious or man-made laws… these extremely racist practices will not halt… until Arab and Islamic countries have the teeth to enforce international law.

EDITORIAL IN SAUDI AL-JAZIRAH

The Israelis are working incessantly to change everything in Palestine and give it a Jewish aspect in a bid to wipe out Arab and Islamic identity… meanwhile, Arabs and Muslims are preoccupied [with their own affairs] while the Palestinians are preparing to fight each other.

EDITORIAL IN IRAN’S AL-VEFAGH

Israel’s plan to swallow Palestine has reached a peak… its project is to wipe Palestine from the map… an escalation rather than a settlement is looming in the region.

EDITORIAL IN SYRIA’S AL-BA’TH

The Israeli occupation of holy sites and the symbols of Palestinian heritage is part of a comprehensive Israeli war to Judaize the Palestinian areas and eliminate their Arab and Islamic identity.

OFIR HAIVRI IN ISRAEL’S YEDIOT AHARANOT

The [US] State Department spokesman Mark Toner has condemned the inclusion of the Cave of the Patriarchs and Rachel’s Tomb in the list of Jewish heritage sites… the State Department did not bother to demand details… the way the matter was dealt with… is not only amateurish but could also have disastrous implications for an explosive region like ours.

EDITORIAL IN ISRAEL’S JERSULALEM POST

The Jewish people’s historic connection to the sites in question does not require cabinet approval to be deemed legitimate… the [national heritage] list could have been left ambiguous… still, if [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu made a tactical mistake, the immediate Palestinian resort to violence was deliberate and inexcusable.

Protecting Innocent Civilians From Violent Rioters is NOT Provocation

Written by Marty Roberts on March 1, 2010 – 10:35 am -

If using your police on your sovereign territory to disperse rock-throwing criminals who are threatening bodily harm to religious worshipers and visiting tourists is a provocation…Provoke away, Israel!!!
And why is Israel giving in to pressure from Jordan, anyway???
Abbas and Abdullah

Jordan condemns raid on holy Jerusalem site as provocation, Jordanian diplomacy succeeds in getting Israeli police out of Al Aqsa compound

Amman, Feb.28(Petra- Jordan news agency)– Jordan condemned as a provocation
Israeli forces who stormed Al Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem on Sunday
and said such actions would undermine efforts to restart the
Palestinian-Israeli peace process.

Reprinted from IMRA

Israeli police opened the Bab Al Maghareba Gate early today for the entry of
zionist extremists to the holy compound touching off a confrontation with
Muslim worshippers.

About 20 protesters were wounded by soldiers who used tear gas and rubber
bullets.

“Jordan rejects any attempt by Israeli occupation forces to harm holy sites
in the Palestinian territories,” State Minister for Media Affairs and
Communication Nabil Sharif told Petra.

“Storming Al Aqsa is an affront to the will of the international community
and such action will impede efforts to kickstart the peace process to
achieve stability in the region and set up an independent, sovereign and
viable Palestinian state,” Sharif added.

The minister said that repeated Israeli assaults on the compound in the old
city of Jerusalem were designed to provoke millions of Arabs and Muslims.

Condemnation of the latest attack on worshippers also came from a number of
officials and academics, who said it was a further evidence that Israel is
in violations of international laws and conventions.

They called on Arab and Islamic countries to shoulder their responsibility
in defending Islamic holy places in Jerusalem and the occupied territories.

“This arbitrary Israeli measure is a stark evidence that Israeli occupation
authorities, headed by the right-wing government, continue such measures in
total disregard of religious norms, international law, the Fourth Geneva
Convention and U.N Security Council resolutions,” said Abdullah Kanan,
Secretary General of the Royal Jordanian committee for Jerusalem Affairs.

Amman, Feb.

28(Petra)– Upon directives from His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Jordanian
diplomacy moved effectively and rapidly on Sunday to get Israeli police out
of Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh said Sunday.

”King Abdullah instructed us to move at all levels to protest Israel’s
unilateral measure and to totally reject Israeli police thrust into the holy
site,” Judeh added in a statement to Petra.

“We interfered through our embassy in Tel Aviv and contacted all the
concerned parties in Israel”, he added noting that these diplomatic efforts
have led to getting Israeli police personnel out of Al Aqsa compound and all
the gates leading to Al Aqsa Mosque were opened for Muslim worshippers.

The Palestinians who staged an overnight sat-in inside Al Aqsa were also
allowed to leave through an arrangement with the Awqaf Department in
Jerusalem, he said.

Meanwhile, Jordan made its protest to the Israeli authorities for using
force against Palestinians in the old city and around Al Aqsa compound, the
Minister noted.

Wake Up and Smell the Preparation H, Your Royal Highness, King of Jordan

Written by Marty Roberts on March 1, 2010 – 10:24 am -

Now the “king” of Jordan is getting into the act. BTW, his dynasty extends all the way back, almost 100 whole years!!!. A dynasty created by the occupying Europeans of the Middle East to try and get some stability in the wacked out countries being run by wandering nomads. Some royal line…For sure Abdullah is afraid of the power of the more than 60% of his country made up of palestinians…That’s why JORDAN was supposed to be and SHOULD be the palestinian state, not Israel. Anyway…Given the fact that the Al Aqusa mosque is sitting on the holiest site in Judaism, and Israel lets it remain there, I don’t quite get just what is provocative in Israel’s behavior…We just declared sites in Hebron and Bethlehem Jewish Heritage sites, nothing at all in “east” Jerusalem…we don’t even conduct the archeological excavations that SHOULD be carried out on the temple mount, due to Muslim “sensitivities”. Time to get real, Your Highness….(snicker, snicker)
Abbas and Abdullah

King of Jordan: Protect holy sites from Israel

In meeting with Abbas in Amman, King Abdullah warns of ‘dangerous consequences of provocative Israeli moves and aggressive acts against al-Aqsa Mosque.’ He adds that steps taken ‘constitute dangerous provocation that threatens efforts to achieve regional peace’

Reprinted from Ynetnews Roee Nahmias

Israel’s eastern neighbor makes a call for action: King Abdullah of Jordan said Sunday that the international community must take immediate measures to protect the holy sites in east Jerusalem from unilateral moves on Israel’s part.

According to him, Israel’s moves seek to alter Jerusalem’s identity and constitute a dangerous provocation that threatens all efforts invested in achieving regional peace.

Jordan’s official news agency, Petra, reported that during a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Amman the Jordanian king warned against “the dangerous consequences of provocative Israeli moves and acts of aggression against the al-Aqsa Mosque – moves with Jordan condemns.”

King Abdullah emphasized that his country will continue to invest efforts in protecting the holy sites in Jerusalem. In addition, Abdullah highlighted Jordan’s rejection and rebuke of Israel’s decision to include Rachel’s Tomb and the Cave of the Patriarchs on its list of national heritage sites.

During the meeting – which was attended by senior Jordanian officials, including Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, and senior Palestinians, including their head of negotiation team Saeb Erekat – the two sides discussed efforts being put forth in order to overcome the hurdles to renewing the Israeli-Palestinian peace process on the basis of a two-state solution, a set timetable, and the Arab Peace Initiative.

The Jordanian king reiterated his country’s support for the Palestinian Authority and efforts to reinstate the rights of the Palestinian people, particularly their right to an independent country.

Just Another Day in the Life of an Israeli..Today It’s Gas Masks

Written by Marty Roberts on February 28, 2010 – 12:30 pm -

It’s a part of life here, in Israel. You don’t really think about what it means, until you think about what it means! Looking at your kids or grandkids, not to mention your wife, trying on a gas mask is bizarre and scary…Welcome to Israel…
Distributing gas masks in Israel

IDF to distribute gas masks today

Amid growing tensions, Home Front Command begins pilot program in Or Yehuda

Jerusalem Post online Yaakov Katz

Amid growing tension in the north, the IDF Home Front Command will begin a pilot program to redistribute gas masks in Or Yehuda on Sunday.

Under the plan – drawn up by Col. Yossi Sagiv, head of the Home Front Command’s Gas Mask and Protection Kits Department – the masks will be returned to private homes by the Israel Postal Company, which beat out seven other companies in a Defense Ministry-issued tender in late 2009. Gas masks were collected from private homes starting in 2007 by a private delivery company.

The distribution is slated to take three years. Officials said that after the distribution is completed in Or Yehuda, the IDF will review the operation, implement corrections and improvements and then start distributing the kits in other parts of the country, based on operational considerations of which area is under a more immediate threat.

The public will receive the same rubber gas mask that it had in the past with an improved filter – more effective against chemical and biological threats Israel faces – but without the syringe of Atropine that was in past kits.

Under the plan, Postal Company representatives will contact homeowners and schedule a time to visit and deliver the gas masks required by the family. Each family will be asked to pay a nominal sum of less than NIS 20. The courier will also help fit the gas masks to the family members and explain how to use them. People that prefer not to pay the fee can travel to a distribution center, that will be located in each city, to pick up their gas masks.

Lebanon=Switzerland of the Middle East?..I Don’t Think So, Mr. President

Written by Marty Roberts on February 25, 2010 – 6:37 pm -

With all due respect to Shimon Peres, are we talking another prophetic vision of a new Middle East? The last one was 15+ years ago with the advent of the disasterous Oslo Accords. Peres had us dreaming of dining on pitas in Damascus back then. Update:Syrian president Assad has threatened to rain missiles on Israel’s population centers just this week. Israelis were going to be sipping coffee in cafes in Ramallah, Jenin and Shechem, according to Peres’ estimation. Before giving the palestinians autonomy under the Palestinian Authority, when these areas were under Israeli political and military control, that was, in fact true. Israelis regularly shopped in the “palestinian” cities. Now, these same cities are Judenrein…no Israelis allowed. Against the law. Period. Maybe Peres dreams too much of the impossible, the “what-ifs” that have little connection to reality. If your mother only had a penis, she could be your father.
Could be, if only…
Shimon Peres

Peres: Lebanon could be Mideast’s Switzerland

President on visit to north says ‘Hezbollah has changed from religious movement to Iranian agent’

Reprinted from Ynetnews

President Shimon Peres said Thursday he did not believe there would be a war with Hezbollah anytime soon.

Speaking before high school students in the northern city of Hatzor Haglilit, Peres accused Hezbollah of “preventing Lebanon from becoming the Switzerland of the Middle East” as well as unity in the state.

Referring to Iran he expressed hope that “Hezbollah will stop bowing down before the gods of missiles and begin praying to the god of peace”.

“Hezbollah has changed from a religious movement into a military wing. It has changed from a Lebanese organization into an Iranian agent. The State of Israel has upheld the UN resolution in its entirety, and returned to Lebanon all of the territory belonging to it. Those who have destroyed and continue to destroy and prevent union are Hezbollah,” Peres said.

The president also told reporters at the event that he had “no idea” about the assassination of Hamas commander Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in Dubai.

Students present at Peres’s speech handed him a petition calling for the release of Jonathan Pollard, jailed in the US for spying for Israel.

“We will continue to seek his release as soon as possible. We have made many efforts in the past and we are currently doing so as well. All of the presidents and prime ministers who served in Israel have appealed to all presidents who served in the US during this time but were all turned down,” he said.

After meeting with the students Peres visited the Pri Galil factory in the area, which was prevented from closing down last year by a furious struggle and is considered one of the forerunners of the Galilee’s economy.

Peres spoke of the development in the north and promised Mayor Shimon Suissa that he would continue to help.

“There is a natural connection between Shimon Peres and the periphery, and some of the region’s best success stories are related to him,” Suissa said. “The security threats we have known have stressed the residents’ determination to live here.”

Iran Plans to Nuke Israel…Will We Let It Happen?

Written by Marty Roberts on February 24, 2010 – 7:18 pm -

Can they make it any clearer? Iran is trying to develop an atomic bomb. They intend to use it to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. It says so in black and white. Time to stop them…NOW…
Nuclear Explosion

Iranian Website: Iranian Nuclear Bomb Spells Death to Israel

On February 18, 2010, the Iranian website Asr-e Iran posted an editorial stating that Iran’s possessing nuclear weapons will threaten Israel’s existence and lead to its elimination – even if they are never used

MEMRI..The Middle East Research Institute

The editorial explained that Israel’s raison d’être is the illusion that it can provide absolute security for the Jewish people, and that it has security supremacy. Once Iran possesses nuclear weapons and shifts the balance of power in the Middle East, it states, this will be end of Israeli society.

The following is the translation of the article:

“The Zionist Regime Must Continue to Preserve this Illusion of ‘Absolute Security’ within the Borders of Israel”

“Since its establishment in 1948, the central pillar on which Israel is founded has been ‘creating a secure territory for the Jewish people, in order to protect it from any possible danger.’ This issue is so important to the elected officials of the Israeli regime that in the country’s 62 years of existence, they have dealt harshly with any element, [even] the most minor, that could possibly strike at or harm ‘the famous Paradise.’

“In order to continue to be a safe haven for Jews from all over the world, and to continue to draw human, economic, and other capital from all over the world, the Zionist regime must continue to preserve this illusion of ‘absolute security’ within the borders of Israel (i.e. occupied Palestine).

“For this reason, and driven by this strategy, in the 1960s Israel produced dozens of nuclear warheads (as the Western countries looked the other way, and some even collaborated, such as France) – so that it would, or so it thought, attain absolute supremacy in the Middle East balance of power.

“The truth is that for Israel, not just insecurity, but even the mere sense of insecurity is deadly poison. That is why this regime focuses all its efforts on preventing what it sees as the nuclearization of Iran.

“Israeli officials are well aware of what nuclear weapons mean and of the scope of their deterrence. They know well that using nuclear weapons as deterrence in a first strike capacity means mutual destruction if the other side has them as well. Thus, it cannot be assumed that a country that has nuclear weapons will use them against another country (particularly if that country also has them).

“Nevertheless, Israel’s excessive concern vis-à-vis Iran’s nuclear activity, and the propaganda against Iran’s peaceful activity, is completely unjustified, except for the issue above – namely the damage to the sense of absolute security within the borders of this regime.”

“An Iran with Nuclear Weapons Means an End to the Dream of ‘Secure Israel’”

“The truth is that Israel knows very well that even if Iran obtains nuclear weapons, it will never use them except in self-defense, in the event of a non-conventional or nuclear attack. Rather, Iran’s possession of such weapons will sow in Israel a sense of insecurity – and this sense alone will be enough to shatter the glass palace of this illegitimate regime in the Middle East.

“An Iran with nuclear weapons means an end to the dream of ’secure Israel’ – and this means the exodus of most of the residents of this occupied land (who immigrated there for absolute security and for jobs). This exodus will include human, financial, and other capital, and therefore will be a death sentence for this regime.

“Thus, [it can be concluded that] the [worldwide] Iranophobia project is actually a Zionist activity aimed at covering its Achilles heel without acknowledging its main fear – the fear that impacts the glass palace of Israel’s absolute security. Tel Aviv is using expressions such as ‘the international community’s concern’ and others to hide its main fear.”

Israel MUST Remain in Control of Jewish Holy Sites..No Matter WHAT the UN or Anyone Else Says

Written by Marty Roberts on February 23, 2010 – 3:03 pm -

As usual, the UN can be counted on for setting new heights of “Chutzpa”…OF COURSE Hebron and Rachel’s Tomb are part of Israel’s National heritage! Israel is a Jewish state. Rachel was the wife of one of the Jewish forefathers, the mother of two of Israel’s twelve tribes. Hebron was the capital of Israel for SEVEN YEARS under the rule of King David (he was Jewish, by the way) before he moved his monarchy to the present capital of Israel, Jerusalem.

Israel has always allowed access to ALL of her holy sites to ALL religions, something that cannot be said about Jewish Holy sites when they have been under Muslim control. Read more »

European Union foreign ministers condemned on Monday the use of forged European passports by assassins who killed a Palestinian militant in Dubai, but made no direct reference to Israel.

“The EU strongly condemns the fact that those involved in this action (assassination) used fraudulent EU member states’ passports and credit cards acquired through the theft of EU citizens’ identities,” a declaration on behalf of EU foreign ministers said. (Reuters)
