“Dear, Isn’t That an Air Raid Siren?…Better Head Down to the Bomb Shelter…They’re Shooting Missiles at Our House Again…Darn”
Written by Marty Roberts on December 12, 2011 – 10:23 am -Guess that’s life in Southern Israel these days…
So me and the wife are settling in the other night for our evening ritual of TV series and snacks. I’m setting things up and Ellen is downstairs getting into her ‘jammies and sweats.
She calls me, but, me being a new member of the 60+ generation and a bit hard of hearing even before qualifying for membership in the AARP, I don’t answer, so she tries a bit louder.
“MARTY!!!”
“WHAT?”, my witty reply.
“It’s a siren”, she says, a bit louder this time. “You better get on down here”.
“Oh, crap”, says me, “We’re going to miss the beginning of Boardwalk Empire!…”Okay, okay, I’m coming…and I’ll bring the dogs.”
I realize that we better get in the “safe room”/bomb shelter that every home in Israel is required by building code to have. It’s rare that Hamas hits anything with their primitive missiles, but every now and then there’s a wrecked house, and there’s even been a few dead people.
So we gather downstairs, in the basement, under a doorjamb, far from any glass windows, but NOT QUITE in the bomb shelter itself. It’s kind of too cluttered with old cribs, books, dental molds and bird food for a full size human to fit in, let alone a couple and three dogs. Besides, the missiles don’t usually hit anything, right? But that siren is still wailing and it’s kind of a scary sound, even after the tenth time hearing it and running (slowly) to the shelter. Better safe than sorry.
So after a couple of minutes the siren stops. Ellen says, “Let’s go upstairs and watch TV”.
“But the orders say we wait in the shelter for10 minutes to be sure nothing explodes”.
“But we’re not REALLY even in the shelter.”
“Alright, alright”
After about 90 seconds, we get tired of standing there like fools, so we head up and hit the popcorn (now a bit burned), sunflower seeds. Boardwalk Empire, House and Dexter are waiting.
I turn to Ellen about an hour later and say, “You know, I was just thinking. How weird is it? There are people that are actually shooting rockets and missiles at our house. For real. They want to blow up our house and kill you, me, the dogs and the children. FOR REAL!!! Could you imagine that if we were still living in America?”
“Shhhhh…”House” is starting.
I guess you get used to anything after a while.

Israel Ponders the Release of Murderers and Terrorists to Free Gilad Shalit From Palestinian Kidnappers in Gaza
Written by Marty Roberts on June 26, 2011 – 2:28 pm -The government of Israel is considering releasing from Israeli jails scores of arab terrorists…terrorists that have already murdered hundreds of innocent Jews…
Our hearts are torn over the pain and suffering already endured by Gilad Shalit and his loved ones, after being held in captivity in Gaza for five years by heartless, inhumane palestinian terrorists. We MUST do everything possible to obtain his release…NOW.
Jewish law and Jewish morality places the redeeming of Jewish captives amongst the highest priorities of any Jewish community…but not at any price. We are required to be certain that the redeeming of one precious life does not become the cause of later, even greater LOSS of life…
It is the responsibility of the government of Israel to do everything in its power to obtain the immediate release of Gilad Shalit. It is also the responsibility of the government of Israel to protect and defend the lives of the rest of Israel’s citizens. The government must not only think about Shalit today, but must consider tomorrow, the DAY AFTER his release…What is likely to happen?
This nightmarish “day after” scenario posited by my friend Dr. Aaron Lerner at IMRA seems all too likely to occur, should the government decide to free arab terrorists of the most dangerous variety in return for the release of Gilad Shalit…
Observation: The day after release of Shalit in huge trade
The following is a reasonable prediction of what will happen after Gilad
Shalit is released in a huge trade:
Reprinted from imra.org.il Dr. Aaron Lerner
1. Every terrorist group and even freelancers make absolutely every
effort to grab someone to replace Shalit.2. The country is on high alert due to intelligence reports of plans to
kidnap another soldier.3. Many of the attempts are foiled.
4. Thursday is a nightmare for both soldiers and their families as
soldiers make their way home for the weekend from their bases. Ditto for
Sunday as soldier return. In both instances the roads are clogged with the
cars of parents who opted to transport their children themselves rather than
rely on public transportation.5. Within a relatively short period, a soldier is dragged off the streets
of Israel but the terrorists kill the soldier because they find that they
are unable to hide him.6. Ultimately one of the kidnappings succeeds when a soldier dragged off
the streets reaches Gaza after being smuggled out to Egypt – all this before
it is even certain that a soldier is actually missing.7. The IDF carries out various attacks but since Israeli intelligence is
clueless as to where the soldier is being held and since Israel wants to
avoid condemnation at this time for a massive operation, most efforts to
gain the release of the captured soldier are diplomatic and via PR.8. The country is depressed, frustrated and there are articles in the
paper that many families with children slated to enter the IDF are seeking
ways to keep their kids out of the army.9. There are calls to meet the demands of the terrorists to gain the
release of the new kidnapped soldier.10. Some former senior defense-intelligence officials issue a call to
release all terrorists now being held by Israel once they have been
interrogated for information so that there is no longer any reason for the
terrorists to kidnap Israelis.11. Under the banner “Peace Now: For the safety of our soldiers” former
senior defense-intelligence officials issue a call for Israel to make every
and any conciliation required to reach a final status agreement with the
Palestinians. The above series of events might not transpire, but the odds that they do
are magnitudes greater than optimistic scenarios. The former senior defense-intelligence officials who assert that Israel
knows how to deal with security threats are correct. There will be security
alerts, etc. but none of these activities will stop the kidnapping from
taking place with every terrorist group and even freelancers making
absolutely every effort to grab someone to replace Shalit. Now that’s not to say that the recommendation of the former senior
defense-intelligence officials who are pushing for Israel to carry out the
trade aren’t right.
Its just that they should have the intellectual honesty to concede where we
may find ourselves after the deal.

Israeli Army Checkpoints are NOT Obstacles to Peace…They Are Obstacles to Dead Jews
Written by Marty Roberts on June 19, 2011 – 4:54 pm -Those pesky checkpoints that check for bombs, knives and what-not carried by palestinians crossing into Jewish population centers in Israel …
Israel keeps removing them, under U.S. and European pressure, of course…confidence-building measures to reassure the palestinian enemies of Israel that they have true partners in their quest for peace…
The removal of checkpoints seems to inevitably lead to a successful terror attacks and the spilling of innocent Jewish blood
…and the IDF checkpoints keep on preventing the murder of Israeli Jews on a daily basis…
Palestinian shot trying to stab Israel soldier
A Palestinian was shot and injured on Sunday after he apparently tried to stab a soldier at a checkpoint in the northern West Bank, the Israeli military said
Reprinted from vancouversun.com
“Today, a Palestinian rushed in the direction of an Israeli soldier shouting Allahu Akhbar (God is greatest) and trying to stab him. The soldier opened fire and wounded him in the leg,” a spokeswoman told AFP.“The Palestinian was evacuated to an Israeli hospital and an investigation has been opened,” she added.
The military said the incident occurred near the Ariel settlement in the northern West Bank, south of the Palestinian city of Nablus.
Palestinian security sources confirmed that their Israeli counterparts had notified them of an incident in the northern West Bank in which they said a man tried to stab a female soldier,
But the sources added that they had no details or independent confirmation.
In January, Israeli troops shot and killed a Palestinian man at the Hamra checkpoint northeast of Nablus.
Initial reports claimed the man had tried to stab soldiers but the military later said troops had opened fire when the man entered an unauthorised lane at the checkpoint, apparently wielding a bottle.

Where is the concern for women’s rights in the liberal press and Western democratic societies?
Why did the brutal sexual assault on CBS reporter Lara Logan go unreported in the media for 3+ days?
The euphoric optimism across the political spectrum in the West is preventing hard, objective reporting of the realities on the ground, as the largest Arab country in the Middle East moves inexorably towards islamo-fascist, Islamic Sharia Law, this time under the aegis of the Muslim Brotherhood…
To face the truth would spoil too many dreams, shatter too many illusions…Too bad, because, as always, to be forewarned is to be prepared…for the (likely) worst…

Lebanon has Already Fallen into the Hands of Iranian Proxy Hizbollah
Written by Marty Roberts on February 8, 2011 – 4:34 pm -This may turn out to be even more significant than Egypt’s imminent fall…
While all eyes are focused on the fall of Egypt to islamo-fascism, not very many are paying attention to the fall of Lebanon. Lebanon is now in the hands of Iranian proxy Hizbollah. They have more than 40,000 missiles aimed at the heart of Israel. Just a couple of years ago, Hizbollah proved to the world that were ready, willing and able to use their missiles to threaten the length and breadth of her neighbor to the south, Israel.
Iranian-backed Hizbollah began their takeover of Lebanon by assassinating Prime Minister Hariri in 2005. As the UN tribunal stands ready to point the finger of accusation at them, they have finished off the job by forcing Hariri’s son Saad to resign as prime inister and placing their puppet in control of a Hizbollah-dominated coalition.
Jimmy Carter lost Iran from the pro-Western bloc to the islamo-fascists. He is starting to look pretty good in comparison to Barak Obama, who is about to become the American president that lost Lebanon, Turkey, Syria, Egypt and who knows how many more formerly friendly Arab nations to the ayatollahs…
Hope and change…
I just hope that things stop changing for the bad pretty soon….
Lebanon, not Egypt, may determine the fate of democracy in the Middle East
Despite the media’s recent focus on Egypt, events in Lebanon may well tell us more about the troubled prospects for Middle Eastern democracy. The fall of Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s government, replaced by a Hezbollah-dominated coalition, dramatically imperils Beirut’s democratic Cedar Revolution.
Reprinted from JSOnline by John R. Bolton
Financed and dominated by Iran, terrorist Hezbollah has consistently refused to disarm and become a legitimate political party. Instead, it enjoys the best of both worlds, contesting elections while retaining the military ability to enforce its will against uncongenial results. History will rightly blame the West for the tragedy of the takeover in Beirut, because of its unwillingness to stand against Hezbollah and its Iranian puppet masters. Washington must withhold recognition from any Lebanese government that relies on Hezbollah support.
In mid-January at The Hague, the prosecutor for the Special Tribunal for Lebanon submitted long-awaited indictments regarding the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. Although the indictments are not yet public, they are widely expected to finger top leaders in Hezbollah, Syria and potentially Iran, and they are doubtless behind Hezbollah’s decision to assert itself by collapsing the government of Hariri’s son.
Rescuing Lebanon from radicals and terrorists will require strong action, noticeably absent in recent U.S. policy. We can no longer pretend that the special tribunal’s existence is an adequate response to the real problem in Lebanon: Tehran’s long-standing drive for regional hegemony. It was always a mistake to confuse the effectiveness of an international criminal court with courts of real constitutional governments, and harmfully naive to think that the special tribunal could operate in a vacuum, as the events in Lebanon make painfully clear.
Of course, Hezbollah’s toppling of the Lebanese government is just the latest of its cancerous efforts in its home base. And it remains a continuing threat to innocent civilians in Israel, to other Arab governments in the Middle East and increasingly to other nations around the globe.
For years before Hariri’s February 2005 murder, the West explained away or ignored Hezbollah’s clear role as an active agent of Syrian and Iranian influence. Western dupes and sympathizers noted Hezbollah’s support for schools and hospitals among Lebanon’s Shiite Muslims as if it were a different Hezbollah from the one terrorizing Israel and subverting and intimidating Lebanon’s faltering efforts at representative government. Hezbollah’s diaphanous justification for its military capability – expelling Israel from Lebanon – in effect ended in 2000 when Israel complied with U.N. Security Council resolutions by withdrawing its forces from southern Lebanon. Of course, protecting Lebanon is legitimately the responsibility only of the Lebanese armed forces, which in fact Syria and Hezbollah have also been working to bring under their control.
Western support for Lebanese democracy has been for the most part limited to a series of Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 1559, calling for Syria to withdraw its forces from Lebanon, and Resolution 1595, creating an international investigation commission to assist Lebanon in prosecuting the Hariri assassination. But Hezbollah foiled these efforts in 2006 by provoking war with Israel. The Security Council ultimately imposed a cease-fire and called for “the disarming of all armed groups in Lebanon,” for an embargo against rearming Hezbollah and for Lebanon’s government to take control of its entire territory, in order to eliminate Hezbollah’s state within a state.
But, as so often before, the West did not follow through. Instead, Iran and Syria rearmed and restored Hezbollah to greater strength (unequivocally demonstrating that Hezbollah was their proxy).
The West must insist on enforcing the Security Council resolutions in support of Lebanese sovereignty and peaceful, representative government, or stop engaging in meaningless gestures. This is our last opportunity before Hezbollah’s armed capabilities swallow democracy in Lebanon, perhaps permanently, and dramatically increase the risk of renewed hostilities throughout the region.
President Obama’s reaction is crucial. Unlike Washington’s repeated prior failures, we must refuse to recognize any Hezbollah-dominated government as legitimate, at least until Hezbollah fully disarms and becomes a real political party. This may well mean committing to more than an impotent U.N. peacekeeping force in Lebanon. Hezbollah’s 1983 bombings of U.S. and French forces in Beirut caused their withdrawal, a rare failure of will by then-President Reagan, leading to today’s crisis. We stand aside again at our peril.
The White House has been obsessed for two years with pressuring Israel to make concessions to Palestinians instead of focusing on the manifestations of Iran’s menace. Perhaps the humiliation of Hezbollah’s collapsing of Saad Hariri’s government as Hariri was meeting in the Oval Office will help spur Obama into meaningful action. If not, the lights will be going out in Lebanon for a long time to come, with devastating consequences in the broader Middle East.

Hamas is a Part of The Muslim Brotherhood
Written by Marty Roberts on February 8, 2011 – 10:32 am -They are now poised to take control of the largest army in the Middle East, with the blessings and broad support of America and the West, from Right to Left, …
American and other Western media continue to portray the Muslim Brotherhood as some kind of social organization, not unlike the Elks’ Club, or maybe the League of Women Voters…WRONG…VERY wrong….
They are about to take control of the Egypt, the largest Arab/Muslim country in the Middle East. with a population of 80 million. Egypt has the largest army in the Middle East, built and paid for by $1.2 billion of American taxpayers money PER YEAR for decades. The Muslim Brotherhood will also be controlling this army. They have stated clearly and openly that Egypt must cancel her peace treaty with israel. This would seem to imply that instead of a state that is at peace with Israel, Egypt will be a state at WAR with Israel. countries at war use their armies. So, thank you, America, for building the next army that Israel will have to defeat in order to continue to exist.
BTW, if you still do not quite get who the Brotherhood is, I am sure that you know who Hamas is, right? Well, Hamas is just another part of the Muslim Brotherhood…They do NOT deny it…They proudly proclaim it…Get it?

Hamas denies any role in Egypt turmoil
Hamas is part of Muslim Brotherhood, it is founded in Egypt more than 80 years ago, iand it is a major power in Egypt.

Al Qassam website – Islamic Hamas movement on Saturday denied media reports that the Gaza-based group was involved in fueling tension in Egypt.
Salah Al-Bardaweel, a Hamas spokesman, accused Egyptian media of “trying to implicate Hamas and the Palestinian people of Gaza in the events and popular uprising in Egypt.”
Hamas is part of Muslim Brotherhood, it is founded in Egypt more than 80 years ago, and it is a major power in Egypt.
Hamas, which won the parliamentary elections in 2006, has been controlling the Gaza Strip, which borders northern Sinai in north Egypt, since it routed forces loyal to the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in 2007.

The Forgotten Legacy of Yitzhak Rabin…NO Palestinian State…NO Return to 1967 Borders…NO Settlement Construction Freeze

It is the Zionistic Israeli political RIGHT that should be lamenting the death of Yitzhak Rabin at the hands of an assassin. All signs indicate that he was coming to his senses just before his death, that, in fact, he was quite ready to reject the failing Oslo Accords that had been forced upon him by his unscrupulous colleagues, Yossi Beilin, Shimon Peres and company.
Rabin was beginning to see through the duplicity of Yasser Arafat and realizing that the Oslo Interim Agreement was not working and, indeed, was very bad for Israel’s security.
In his last address to the Israelil Knesset, upon ratification of the Israel-Palestinian Interim Agreement (Oslo Accords), he clearly stated his understanding of Israel’s position in the agreement:
1. No Palestinian state…ever
2. No return to the 1967 borders
3. Israeli control of the Jordan Valley
4. Gush Katif as the model in the establishment of Jewish settlement blocks in Judea, Samaria and Gaza
5. ALL settlements remain intact during the interim period, including building for natural growth
6. Responsibility for security along the Egyptian and Jordanian borders, airspace over all the territories and Gaza, and the Gaza Strip maritime zone remains in Israeli hands
Even Rabin’s own daughter admitted to her father’s dissatisfaction with Arafat and the Oslo Accords and was not at all surprised at a willingness on the part of Yitzhak Rabin to stop the whole Oslo process.
