“Her kindness and dedication to helping poor people showed us all the path to G-d and heaven”
Her giving of charity and kindness followed G-d and opened the gates of heaven by helping many poor Columbian people. Myriam gave away much of her own food and money, insisting on giving it all to help poor people. She gave all she had to help the poor people of Columbia. Myriam taught her family Jewish values, ensured that her daughters married Jewish American men and kept being Jewish alive in the remote mountains of Colombia. The dream of making aliyah is alive. Myriam, we all love you and miss you and happy will be the day when we will see you again when G-d calls us home. The memory of Myriam Escobar Saavedra will live on as an example of charity, goodness and kindness. May her memory be a blessing to all our family.
