Feminists…Where the Heck Are You???
Written by Marty Roberts on March 5, 2010 – 11:41 am -NOT in Saudi Arabia, I must say…
At least the punishment fits the crime…NOT! How dare a female human being move about freely in Saudi Arabia WITHOUT a male escort. Horrendous!! Immoral!! Lascivious!! She should be happy that she is only being horsewhipped and thrown in jail and not beheaded…
BTW, where are those feminist groups now, when we need them? Moral relativism even amongst feminists????

A human rights group said today Sawsan Salim was convicted last month in a court in Rass, in Qassim province, after petitioning officials in the kingdom’s capital Riyadh. The petition included King Abdullah over what she alleged was years of abuse by local justice officials, the US-based Human Rights Watch (HRW) said in a statement.
Despite her request for intervention, two local judges charged her with filing 118 “spurious complaints” against officials, including the judges themselves, and “appearing … without a male guardian” between 2004 and 2008.
On January 25, she was convicted after a month-long trial before two judges, one of whom was a plaintiff in the case and the original target of Salim’s harassment allegations, according to HRW.
The group called for higher authorities to quash the verdict.
Salim alleges that ever since she rejected local judge Habib Abdullah al Aqsa’s repeated urging to divorce her husband, who was jailed over debts, in 2004, that judge and other officials continually created trouble for her.
On numerous occasions through 2008, HRW said, officials “chided Salim for not being accompanied by a male guardian during her visits to their offices.”
Under Saudi Arabia’s ultra-strict version of Islam, women are not supposed to move around outside the home without a male guardian.
Salim and her lawyer petitioned top officials several times over the years of harassment.
“She owns a business, and they were making things very difficult for her,” said Nadya Khalife, an HRW women’s rights researcher for the Middle East.
“She didn’t keep things quiet.”
Two local judges, including Aqsa, countered with their own accusations and their case went to trial in December, resulting in the conviction. Aqsa was one of the judges appointed to try the case.
“In Saudi Arabia, being a woman going about her legitimate business without a man’s protection is apparently a crime,” Khalife said.

A Clerical Voice of Moderation in Islam…At Last
Written by Marty Roberts on March 3, 2010 – 3:11 pm -So I guess there areally ARE some serious moderate voices in Islam today. The question is, will anybody listen to them? The Islamic terrorists claim that they are acting in the name of religion. Somehow I don’t think that this cleric will be listened to very seriously..
Prove me wrong…
Please…

Islamic scholar Tahir ul-Qadri issues terrorism fatwa
An influential Muslim scholar has issued a global ruling against terrorism and suicide bombing
Reprinted from BBC News Dominic Casciani
Dr Tahir ul-Qadri, from Pakistan, says his 600-page judgement, known as a fatwa, completely dismantles al-Qaeda’s violent ideology. The scholar describes al-Qaeda as an “old evil with a new name” that has not been sufficiently challenged.
The scholar’s movement is growing in the UK and has attracted the interest of policymakers and security chiefs.
In his religious ruling, delivered in London, Dr Qadri says that Islam forbids the massacre of innocent citizens and suicide bombings.
Although many scholars have made similar rulings in the past, Dr Qadri argued that his massive document goes much further by omitting “ifs and buts” added by other thinkers.
He said that it set out a point-by-point theological rebuttal of every argument used by al-Qaeda inspired recruiters.
The populist scholar developed his document last year as a response to the increase in bombings across Pakistan by militants.
‘Heroes of hellfire’
The basic text has been extended to 600 pages to cover global issues, in an attempt to get its theological arguments taken up by Muslims in Western nations. It will be promoted in the UK by Dr Qadri’s organisation, Minhaj ul-Quran International.
Dr Qadri spoke for more than hour to an audience of Muslims, clergy, MPs, police officers and other security officials.
“They [terrorists] can’t claim that their suicide bombings are martyrdom operations and that they become the heroes of the Muslim Umma [global brotherhood]. No, they become heroes of hellfire, and they are leading towards hellfire,” he said.
“There is no place for any martyrdom and their act is never, ever to be considered jihad.”
Acts of vengeance
The document is not the first to condemn terrorism and suicide bombing to be launched in the UK.
Scholars from across the UK came together in the wake of the 7 July London attacks to denounce the bombers and urge communities to root out extremists.
But some scholarly rulings in the Middle East have argued that the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians is an exceptional situation where “martyrdom” attacks can be justified.
Dr Qadri said he rejected that view saying there were no situations under which acts of vengeance, such as attacks on market places or commuter trains, could ever be considered a justifiable act of war.
Although Dr Qadri has many followers in Pakistan, Minhaj ul-Quran International remained largely unknown in the UK until relatively recently.
It now has 10 mosques in cities with significant Muslim communities and says it is targeting younger generations it believes have been let down by traditional leaders.
The organisation is attracting the attention of policymakers and security chiefs who are continuing to look for allies in the fight against extremists.
The Department for Communities, which runs most of the government’s Preventing Violent Extremism strategy, has tried building bridges with a variety of liberal-minded groups, but often found that they have limited actual influence at the grassroots.

This is How Islam Thanks the Jewish State of Israel for Religious Tolerance
Written by Marty Roberts on February 28, 2010 – 11:59 am -We, Israel and the Jews, allow the Muslims to have a mosque on the holiest site to Judaism, the Holy Temple Mount in Jerusalem. They then use this site as a base from which to throw rocks and bottles on Jewish worshipers and tourists visiting the Western Wall of the Temple Mount, below. And this is in response to Israel’s decision to acknowledge the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron and Rachel’s Tomb outside of Bethlehem as Jewish heritage sites, meaning that the government of Israel will invest money to refurbish the sites and educate students about the historic and cultural significance of these places…
And the world condemns ISRAEL, not the wacko Muslims throwing the rocks…

Riots erupt on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount
Young Arabs barricaded in al-Aqsa Mosque since Saturday evening throw stones at passerby. Stones hurled at police forces in Old City as well. Border Guard officer lightly injured in head. One person detained. Islamic organizations tells followers Jews may lay cornerstone for temple
Reprinted from Ynetnews Efrat Weiss
Morning of clashes in Jerusalem’s Old City: Police forces entered the al-Aqsa Mosque plaza at the Temple Mount on Sunday morning after dozens of Arab youths who barricaded themselves in the mosque on Saturday night began hurling stones at passersby entering the Temple Mount compound.A Border Guard officer was lightly injured in the head by stones hurled in the Old City’s alleys. He received medical treatment on site and resumed his activity.
Sources in the mosque reported that at least eight worshippers were hurt by tear gas. According to the Palestinians, hundreds of policemen encircled the mosque, demanding that the youths evacuate themselves.
Stones were occasionally thrown at police officers in the alleys of the Old City, including near the Antonia Fortress, which is one of the entrances to the Temple Mount. There were no reports of injuries. One suspect was detained for questioning.
The police reported that some 30 Arab youths had barricaded themselves inside the mosques and that efforts made by the Waqf (the council managing Muslim sites) to remove them had failed. Police entered the mount’s plaza following the stone throwing and closed its gates, and the youths fled into the mosque.
The police then opened the mount’s gates to worshippers, but restricted entrance to the site to male worshippers with Israeli identity cards over the age of 50 and to female worshippers of all ages. Visits to the site continued as usual.
It is estimated that Sunday’s events at the Temple Mount come following the tension that arose over Israel’s decision to include the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron and Rachel’s Tomb in Bethlehem to its list of national heritage sites.
Members of the Waqf and various Islamic organizations, including the Islamic Movement, urged Muslims over the weekend to flock to the Temple Mount, claiming that “radical Jewish organizations have called on their followers to arrive at the mount today and on Tuesday in an attempt to lay the cornerstone for the temple.”
The Islamic organizations also called on Muslims to be on high alert around March 16, when they said extreme Jewish organizations were planning to mark the global day for the temple’s reconstruction.

Ayatollah Khamenei: Nukes against our religion
Supreme Leader: Iran has no belief in atom bombs
Tehran, Feb 19, IRNA (Iran news agency) – Supreme Leader of Islamic
Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said Iran has not the least belief
in making nuclear bombs.“We have said times and again that our religious beliefs and fundamentals
consider nuclear weapons as a symbol of annihilation of generations, thus
forbidding them.
Accordingly we do not have the least belief in gaining nuclear arms,” said
Ayatollah Khamenei in an address to ceremonies, marking launching of
`Jamaran’ destroyer into the southern Bandar-Abbas waters. The Supreme Leader said the claims of the US President Barack Obama and
several other US officials over recent days are all signs of their anger and
mishap over Iranian nation.“The threadbare and vain claims that nuclear arms are being made in Iran
indicate that enemies of the nation have resorted to repetition even in the
field of propaganda out of extreme helplessness. In response to such vain
claims, the Islamic Republic of Iran will not fall into emotions because we
have repeatedly said that our religious ideas and beliefs consider such
weapons, which are the symbols of mankind degeneration, forbidden and
“Haram” (religiously prohibited). Due to the same reason, we do not have the
least belief in nuclear arms and bombs and do not go after them.”The Supreme Leader made the remarks here on Friday after launching of
`Jamaran’ destroyer into Bandar-Abbas waters in the Persian Gulf.Ayatollah Khamenei said there will be times more valuable and magnificent
works in the field of navy construction in Iran in the future. The Supreme
Leader noted, “Some causes might initially seem to be ambitious but under
high endeavors, overshadowed by faith and trust, any seemingly impossible
goal will be possible. By the same token, definitely future works in the
field of navy construction will prove to be more giant and valuable.”The Supreme Leader said Islam and Islamic Republic will not allow
degradation of Iran and Iranians’ potentialities, dignity and fame
worldwide. The Supreme Leader recalled hundreds of years of navy industry background in
Iran and said domination of the corrupt and despotic rulers over the country
over the past centuries have made the country weak in the field.Hailing high public turnout in the Bahman 22 (February 11) rallies,
Ayatollah Khamenei said that on such an unforgettable day, tens of millions
of people in chorus chanted their hatred of the arrogant powers, insisting
on their Islamic faith and dignity. “Such a beautiful and everlasting fact
had made the
hegemonic powers, especially the US, bewildered, disappointed and angry.”
