South African Judge Goldstone, author of the lie-filled condemnation of Israel’s self-defense war against Hmas in Gaza, has brought hypocrisy to new heights…

And he’s also Jewish, no less…Talk about self-hating Jews…

This guy saw fit to fill an official UN report on the war in Gaza with lies, alleging Israel was guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity, while overlooking the years of missile and rocket attacks against helpless Israeli civilians. Now, it comes out that Goldstone was an active participant in South Africa’s cruel and immoral apartheid regime…that he was personally responsible for sending at least 28 black defendants to their death by hanging.

Shame on you, Judge Goldstone. I was ashamed of you after your report came out, but now…I can hardly find the words…

He asserted that Israel committed war crimes and came out against the Israel Defense Forces, whom he claimed violated basic human rights. Judge Richard Goldstone forgot just one thing – to look long and hard in the mirror and to do some soul-searching before he rushes to criticize others.

A special Yedioth Ahronoth investigation reveals Richard Goldstone’s dark side as a judge during the Apartheid era in South Africa. It turns out, the man who authored the Goldstone Report criticizing the IDF’s actions during Operation Cast Lead took an active part in the racist policies of one of the cruelest regimes of the 20th century.

During his tenure as sitting as judge in the appellant court during the 1980s and 1990s sentenced dozens of blacks mercilessly to their death.

This stain on Goldstone’s past kept him from coming out against the death penalty on many occasions and from vehemently criticizing countries who still allow executions. Goldstone didn’t bother confessing and telling about his actions in any of his statements or speeches.

It would seem that Syria is slowly, inexorably pushing Israel towards military confrontation…another war from Israel’s north. This, in the face of empty talk of peace by Syrian President Assad. Assad, another Arab leader claiming he wants nothing but peace with Israel, but with the caveat that it be peace, only if he is given everything that he demands…Unacceptable, of course, to side #2 in this “peace”, Israel.

Syria has transferred more missiles to the Hizbullah terrorist organization in Lebanon…this time, much longer-ranged Scud missiles, capable of reaching most of Israel. Hizbullah is openly dedicated to destroying the Jewish State of Israel.

Both Israel AND the US have warned Syria about the danger of supplying Hizbullah with weapons, so far, to no avail.

Israeli Army bulldozers were filmed building embankments north of the security fence with Lebanon, an apparent preparation for war on that rapidly boiling front. More likely would be strikes by the Israeli Air Force on selected Syrian and Lebanese targets threatening Israel.

Barak: Syria-Lebanon arms transfer violates UN resolutions

The transfer of advanced Syrian weapons to Lebanon destabilizes the region and is a blatant violation of United Nations resolutions, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said on Tuesday in response to media reports that Syria recently transferred Scud missiles to Hizbullah.

On Monday, Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Rai reported that Damascus had transferred the missiles to Hizbullah and that in response, Israel had threatened to bomb Syrian and Lebanese targets.

Barak said Tuesday that the IDF was closely following what was happening in Lebanon.

“We have no offensive intentions with regard to Lebanon,” he said during a tour of the IDF’s Tel Hashomer Base. “We recommend that everyone work to retain the quiet.”

Earlier in the day, Barak visited the Ramat David Air Force Base with Deputy Chief of General Staff Maj.-Gen. Benny Gantz and said the IDF was prepared for all of the challenges it currently faced.

At the same time, though, Barak said Israel needed to make efforts to achieve peace with its neighbors.

Not that we are at all happy about it. This is MY neighborhood that we are talking about. My sons are in the Israeli Army. The handwriting has been on the wall for a long time, now. I have seen the coming war as inevitable since the end of the LAST war in Gaza. That’s because the Israeli government did not let the IDF finish the job.
What needed to be done before the Israeli army left Gaza, and STILL needs to be done:
1. Destroy, completely Hamas’s military ability, including weapons, supplies, command and control, military leadership.
2. Destroy ALL the smuggling routes used to replenish weapons supplies…and take control of the entire border area with Egypt where these weapons flow…that is, RE-take control of the Philadelphia corridor.
3. Remove Hamas from power in Gaza. They must be replaced by either more moderate Palestinian Authority leadership, or Israel has no choice but to re-take control until there is a reasonable alternative to fill the void.
I learned in dental school, long, long ago, that “There is never enough time to do the job right, but there is ALWAYS is enough time to do the job OVER”…
I can only hope that, if and when we DO do the job right, the price in Israeli blood will not be high…

Residents of Israel’s southern region view the incident in which two soldiers were killed in Gaza Friday, along with the continuous rocket and mortar fire emanating from the Hamas-ruled territory, as a possible prelude to a full-blown war.

“There is a sense that we are on the brink of another war,” a member of Kibbutz Kfar Aza told Ynet on Saturday.

“Mortars have been falling here for a week now, just like in Operation Cast Lead,” said Orit Arjento, “I am in constant stress; running to the Internet to see if there is any news and debating whether I should close the window or leave it open, because of the mortars.

“Fortunately we have a secure room in our apartment, but still, jumping out of bed and making sure that all of the children made it to the secure room is not easy at age 52,” she said.

Prior to the launching of Operation Cast Lead, a mortar landed on the Arjento family home, directly hitting the room of teenage daughter Shir.

“We don’t deserve to live like this,” said Orit, who invited 30 guests from all over the country to attend the Pesach Seder.

“I can’t tell them (guests) that it is completely safe here. The ‘Color Red’ alert sounds on occasion,” she said.

Yoav Peled, security officer for the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council said, “This is the reality, and we’ve almost learned to live with it – after eight years (of rocket fire) and after the war.

“There is a sweeping decision not leave the region. I can’t say that everyone thinks as I do, but I can say with certainty that since Operation Cast Lead more and more people have relocated to the council’s communities; our kibbutzim are full,” he said.

Scientists Use Sex-Crazed Bugs as Alternative to Toxic Pesticides


As an alternative to toxic pesticides, scientists at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem have created “super-sexed” sterilized male leafhoppers to knock bug boots with females in the wild.

In today’s “gross news” category, some female insects might be getting lucky. As an alternative to toxic pesticides, scientists at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem have created “super-sexed” sterilized male leafhoppers to knock bug boots with females in the wild. Yes, that means that the female bugs will miss out on the joys of motherhood, but if the research proves successful, we may be able to eliminate a lot of the harmful and very ungreen chemicals that we currently use to keep food crops pest free.

The sterile insect technique that Professor Boaz Yuval of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment and his team are working on is not exactly new. Basically, the method is to rear millions of specimens of a pest species, separate the sexes, sterilize the males and release them into the wild. If all goes as planned, the sterile lab-raised males will copulate with females who will then be unable to lay fertile eggs.

So what makes the “super sexed” males so, well, sexy and irresistible to the females? Yuval and his team are using a high-protein, bacteria enhanced “stud” breakfast to feed to the males before they’re released. The formula should significantly improve their sexual performance.

Is all this talk about bug sex grossing you out yet? We admit that it’s not the most appropriate topic of convo (especially if you’re eating lunch), but it’s pretty cool to think that this could be a new way to keep all those yucky pesticides off of our food. Plus, the idea that the insects will be having some fun instead of being gassed to death by poisons is pretty cool.

Are we playing a hi-stakes game of chicken here? Who will blink first? Syria? Iran? The United States? I hope that it is NOT Israel…The times, they just keep on getting interestinger and interestinger…

If anyone still had doubts about an imminent conflict with Iran, it was removed this week by the arrival of the U.S. army chief in Israel and the threats from the Iranian president and Hezbollah secretary-general.

Something sinister is in the air.

If the international community’s collision course with Tehran leads to harsh sanctions meant to halt its nuclear program, the spring and summer months will be especially sensitive. It would be impossible to rule out a scenario in which the increasing tension leads to all-out open war. Tehran and Jerusalem regularly exchange threatening messages via various channels, but with Beirut, Gaza and Damascus in the middle, the situation is liable to get out of control.

At a time when Iran is deliberately inflaming the situation, the U.S. is seeking to cool things down. Interestingly and strangely enough, the two rivals seem to have a similar read on Israel’s current role in the drama. Both believe Israel could lose patience and implement its policy of “a leadership gone mad” that former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert took great pride in during the Second Lebanon War and Operation Cast Lead in Gaza. This belief serves as the backdrop for Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s remarks implying that Israel is readying for war (which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has steadfastly denied) and for Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah’s threats to attack strategic infrastructure in Israel.

The possibility of unleashing Israel’s “bull in a china shop” approach is also behind the recent flurry of visits from senior American officials, including the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Michael Mullen, and U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, who arrives next week. The visits are intended to explain to the Netanyahu government why an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities is unwanted at the moment ? and also to clarify what Israel seeks in return for sitting quietly and allowing the Obama administration to build an international coalition to impose sanctions on Iran.

Mullen landed here at the beginning of the week – on the hottest day of Israel’s winter – with an unambiguous warning. His visit opened with a brief press conference at the U.S. embassy in Tel Aviv, to which journalists were summoned on short notice, and that was characterized by something of a culture clash. Some of the Israeli journalists showed up in T-shirts, and Mullen seemed a bit surprised by the casual atmosphere and by the strident tone of the questions.

Despite this, he stuck to the message he was sent here to convey: that he is concerned by the “unexpected consequences” of an Israeli attack on Iran. Mullen’s remarks, made in public even before his first meeting with his Israeli hosts, immediately dictated the tone of Israeli media would adopt to cover his visit.

In recent weeks, especially since its announcement that it has begun production of 20-percent-enriched uranium, Iran has not even bothered to claim its nuclear program is intended for peaceful means, as it had in the past. Iran’s true intentions are clear to everyone from Washington to London to Beijing. China, however, is more concerned about its oil supply than the Iranian threat, and sees its refusal to impose sanctions as an effective means of challenging U.S. power.

It’s possible the concern over an Israeli strike has come too soon. Israel will only attack as a last resort. But if Iran continues its enrichment and the U.S. fails to consolidate sanctions, or if the sanctions are ineffective down the line, the military option becomes more relevant. In this case, Israel also has more legitimacy to act in self-defense and cannot be blamed for the failure of diplomacy.

This week, Nasrallah broadcast another message from his bunker and, for the first time, mentioned the “axis of evil.” He warned of a four-pronged attack against Israel by Iran, Syria, Hezbollah and Hamas ? which those parties have avoided outlining explicitly until now in an effort to maintain the appearance of independence. At the same time, Nasrallah presented Hezbollah’s planned response to Israel’s “Dahiya doctrine” (a term used to describe a conventional army targeting civilian infrastructure used by terrorists) by saying his group would destroy Ben-Gurion International Airport and attack Tel Aviv.
